Yahdav Association

The Yahdav Association of Be'er Sheva and the South is a subsidiary association of the Rashi Foundation. It was established in 1999 with the mission of diversifying social services in the south and increasing their accessibility. Its activity focuses on community-based programs for at-risk children and youth, families in distress and people with special needs.

Southern communities are geographically dispersed and characterized by low socio-economic status, with a high rate of the population requiring support by social and welfare services. Yahdav is attuned to new needs that arise among the target populations and strives to respond to them quickly and effectively. By developing and managing programs that have not previously existed in Be'er Sheva and the south, Yahdav fills an important niche in the community that had previously been neglected.

Yahdav operates a wide range of programs serving thousands of men, women, youth and children, from Be'er Sheva to Eilat. These programs make up a continuum of services, which enables individuals to find a framework that suits their needs at any given time.

  • Programs for children and youth at risk: treatment framework, out-of-home settings, day programs, emergency shelters
  • Programs for special-needs people: employment, housing and leisure-time frameworks
  • Community welfare programs: prevention and treatment of domestic violence, programs for the homeless, drug abuse victims and new immigrants

Yahdav works in cooperation and partnership with the local communities, government ministries, private foundations and various organizations that share its goals.

Some Rashi Foundation programs operated by Yahdav: Women's Shelter, Be'er Sheva; Community Anchor Youth Village; Children's Home, Dimona; Warm Homes for girls; sheltered emplyoment centers in Be'er Sheva and Dimona; sheltered housing.
