The Yahdav Association of Be'er Sheva and the South is a subsidiary association of the Rashi Foundation. It was established in 1999 with the mission of diversifying social services in the south and increasing their accessibility in a manner that guarantees equal opportunities for all of our target populations, in both the Jewish and Arab (Bedouin) sector. We focus on community-based programs in the areas of welfare, education and health for at-risk children and youth, families in distress, and people with special needs.
Yahdav currently operates approximately 60 projects serving over 3,500 men, women, youth and children, from Be'er Sheva to Eilat. We provide a wide range of services in the community including a social club for youth at-risk, a treatment clinic for children and their families, and employment frameworks and training apartments for people with disabilities. Several projects carried out by Yahdav are unique and are not carried out by any other organization or agency in the Negev. These include the Inbal Center that serves victims of sexual assault, a daytime activity center for youths undergoing detoxification, and a shelter for teenage girls in distress.
Our Association"s success is measured by our ability to be attuned to new needs that arise among our target populations and to quickly and effectively diagnose problems and respond to them properly. By developing and managing programs that have not previously existed in Be"er Sheva and the south, the Yahdav Association fills an important niche in the community that had previously been neglected.
The programs operated by the Yahdav Association are carried out in cooperation and partnership with members of local communities, government ministries, private foundations and various organizations that share our goals.
